What is low vision?

Low vision is vision loss that cannot be corrected with glasses, contacts or surgery

The most common causes of low vision are:

  • Macular Degeneration 
  • Glaucoma 
  • Diabetic Retinopathy 
  • Cataracts 
  • Stroke 
  • Brain Injury

What are some signs of low vision?

  • Difficulty or fatigue with reading, causing someone to stop or limit reading ​


  • Difficulty seeing to manage medications​ 


  • Difficulty seeing kitchen appliances and reading labels to cook ​


  • Difficulty seeing to manage a calendar ​


  • Difficulty seeing to manage finances ​
